EXPLORATION 2006 is an informative and discerning weekend of worship, Bible study, prayer, workshops and small group discussions for young people - high-school seniors through age 24 - who are exploring a call to ordained ministry. If you have sensed that God might be calling you to ordained ministry, wondered what ministry in The United Methodist Church is all about, or would like some help sorting through the issues surrounding a Christian vocation, this is the gathering for you.
The Florida Conference Office is offering a limited amount of scholarships for this event. We would love to see a number of High School Seniors attend from the Conference since the event is being held in Jacksonville. The cost of the event is the travel expense plus $150.00 (this includes meals, housing and registration). The Conference scholarship will help with half of the registration fee, which would be $75.00.
We are asking the YOUTH MINISTER or COORDINATOR to fill out the information below. Please email Kelly Moore (kmoore@flumc.org) the information asked for below by September 22. We will decide on the Scholarships by September 25. We will mail a check for the total amount of scholarships given to the church. For example, if you have 3 participants going and the Conference Office awards all three of those students’ scholarships, we would send you a check for $225.00.
