At this time every year, the Florida United Methodist Foundation accepts applications for the Sinclair Scholarship. Application deadline for the 2008 scholarship is March 25. The award is available exclusively to United Methodist youth who will be incoming college freshmen in the fall of 2008. To qualify, candidates must be planning to attend a Florida or United Methodist college or university. Applications are evaluated on the basis of academic achievement, church and community service and financial need. Youth leaders are especially encouraged to apply.Â
The Foundation publicizes the scholarship on its Web site and through an e-mail blast to pastors and youth directors at churches conference-wide. It relies on local churches to help identify deserving candidates, and a publicity poster that can be posted in youth departments and/or other locations where members gather is available for your use.
