About the Institute
The Youth Ministry Institute is a two year program designed to help beginning youth ministers become skilled youth ministers by providing instructional training (leadership, theological and ministry application), coaching from more experienced youth ministers, networking with peers in youth ministry and providing consultation to the local church regarding their youth ministry.
The Youth Ministry Institute (YMI) strives to help youth ministries become successful. YMI desires that a greater number of youth experience Jesus in a meaningful, life-altering way. Therefore, YMI values participants and local churches that come from varied Christian traditions, recognizing that there is strength in unity and greater theological understanding in diversity. In connecting theology with the practice of youth ministry, YMI seeks out reputable organizations, seminaries, authors and curriculum to provide the instructional training components. Coaches are selected based on their experience and the potential help they will give a candidate in navigating their particular local church tradition.
